FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) ā One person is dead after a shooting outside a restaurant in Fayetteville, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Fayetteville location of Smokey Bones at 1891 Skibo Road, which is next to Cross Creek Mall, around 4:58 p.m. Wednesday. Once there, they found a person with a gunshot wound in the parking lot.
The Fayetteville Police Department said the victim was taken by medical personnel to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where they died from their injuries. The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Fayetteville police said their Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting. Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call Detective C. Cross at (472) 210-2381.
