Key Eric Adams ally is now working with rival Andrew Cuomo in latest blow to embattled NYC mayor

It must make for interesting pillow talk.

The husband of a major Eric Adams ally is working for rival Andrew Cuomo in his bid to unseat the embattled New York City mayor in a crowded Democratic primary.

Edu Hermelyn — the husband of Brooklyn Democratic chairwoman Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn — is a “political advisor” to the ex-governor’s comeback campaign, a spokesperson told The Post.

“Edu is a valued political advisor for the campaign who’s helping with elected official outreach,” Cuomo campaign spokesman Richard Azzopardi said. “Of course politics is a small world and it’s not uncommon for people involved in it to be married to each other, but what one does shouldn’t necessarily be a reflection on the other.”

Rodneyse Hermelyn has been one of Adams’ staunchest supporters but political insiders are already speculating that she may join her hubby as Hizzoner faces low polling numbers and is juggling his reelection bid with a legal battle over federal corruption charges.

Rodneyse Hermelyn, accordingto Politico, has told some Democrats she is considering backing the former New York governor.

She declined to comment about her spouse working for Cuomo and whether she was abandoning Adams.

Edu Hermelyn is a senior vice president with Mercury Public Affairs, the consulting firm whose partners are heavily involved in Cuomo’s campaign.

Former Brooklyn Democratic leader Frank Seddio — an ally of Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn whom she nominated to serve as commissioner on the city Board of Elections – recently said he was backing Cuomo over Adams in the June 24 Democratic primary. He backed Adams in 2021.
